Welcome to FACTSS!We are a growing number of Canadians, mainly women, who are concerned that the War on Drugs is causing more harm than illegal drugs. We have formed an organization - Family Action Coalition Toward Sensible Solutions (FACTSS) - to address the impact the war is having on families.
Several aims are:
1) A network of support. It isn't always possible, or even desirable, to separate our personal lives from our ideologies and activities - and giving and receiving help and support can sometimes make the difference between someone being involved or just focusing on survival. Strength in numbers.
2) Resource sharing. A national clearinghouse for information, activities, news items relating to our concerns, personal experience, etc. to compliment local grassroots and high-level involvement and interests.
Opportunities might
include, but are not limited to:
-organizing at the local level -attracting influential people or lobbying politicians -becoming spokeswomen -working behind the scenes
Hopefully there is something for everyone.
